Human pillars intwined with trees? A body perfectly sliced like a display in the Bodies exhibit? I don't know. This is borderline Twilight Zone level of hyper-improbable happenstance. These people seem to be engrossed in serial killers with deep psychotic tendencies. I mean, a no more than the whole 90's "Murder She Wrote" series where one person can be surrounded by constant murder. But more importantly, it detracts from the believability of the Hannibal universe. Are they trying to say we're all guilty of something? And what about the flawless application of light based hypnosis? This kind of masterful application of low pseudo-science seems desperate to seem deep to me. Just the implication that he could see the evil in them. The guy who made angels of people? What made him see people on fire, and have that magically correlate to some murder worthy crime? They didn't say he did research or anything. What is happening here? In season 2 we are borderline breaching into the supernatural. Silence of the lambs, and the subsequent films thereafter were always at least rooted in reality. I'm still trying to like this more than I do.
